Roseau — Dominica's Capital
On the hills above Roseau, the island's wealthier residents, church leaders, and politicians live and work.
The view of the capital is breathtaking — locals like to call it the "one million dollar view." Between the villas, you can still see the ruins of old buildings that were left standing as memorials after various hurricanes.
Soufrière Sulphur Springs
Below the spring, there are two small and very cozy "thermal baths" with a beautiful view of the Soufrière Sulphur Springs. One of them is Tia's Bamboo Hot Springs, featuring pools of varying temperatures.
At Tia's Bamboo Cottages, you can rent a room or grab a bite to eat or drink at the restaurant. The rooms have a wonderfully rustic charm. Unfortunately, the website is no longer available, but there is a Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/566994726708702
Trafalgar Falls — Waterfalls
The Trafalgar Falls can be found near Laudat, high up in the rainforest. The two waterfalls plunge from 60 meters in parallel, forming a pool before merging into the Roseau River and flowing onward. The left stream carries warm water while the right one carries cold water. You can enjoy a wonderful view of this spectacle from a platform nearby. There is also access to the pool, though it is at your own risk (about a 15-minute walk). The pool is surrounded by orange volcanic rock and partially hot spring water.
Admission EC$ 13.50 — US$ 5.00 or the weekly pass to all Dominica Forest, Wildlife & National Parks for EC$ 32.04 — US$ 12.00.
