At 5:20 AM our phone alarm goes off. A quick breakfast, then waiting for the transfer driver.
At 6:45 we arrive at the airport of Saint Pierre. Unfortunately, we have to cancel our helicopter flight with Corail. On both days, strong winds and clouds rolling in from the south put an abrupt end to our excursion. Visibility of the volcano Piton de la Fournaise and the Cirque de Salazie is simply not possible.
Then again, it would have been a shame to spend half the flight staring at the cloud cover...

We wish you better luck with this activity and recommend booking the flight right at the start of your trip if you are planning one. That way, you have the option to reschedule in case of unfavourable weather.
