Our Hotel Baril in Baril

We reach our hotel Baril in Baril a bit earlier than planned. A superb property awaits us right above the lava cliffs, where the powerful surf of the Indian Ocean crashes against the rocks. The restaurant sits right on a cliff and offers a magnificent view of the natural spectacle.

This hotel is actually the southernmost hotel on the island and is probably home to the only German-speaking hotelier on the island. The former mountain guide also has a tip or two for his guests.

If you set off by boat from here heading south, your next stop would be the South Pole!
