Charlotte Amalie – St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
Saturday, September 29: At 7:00 AM, the Adventure of the Seas docks in Charlotte Amalie.
We had booked our diving excursion on board.
Two dives for €76 per person, including equipment and transport.
The Adventure sets sail again at 5:30 PM.
Kennedy Wreck off Hassel Island
Meeting point at the pier at 8:30 AM. We take a boat out to the nearby Hassel Island. The first dive site is the Kennedy Wreck. At a maximum depth of 18 m, we spend around 40 minutes exploring the wreck. Fortunately, the wreck currently sits at about 20 m depth – a hurricane once washed it onto the island before the next one swept it back into the water.
Chromas Reef off Hassel Island
The second dive site is Chromas Reef. At 22 m depth, we dive for around 40 minutes and come across a nurse shark.
Beautiful coral formations and an abundance of Caribbean fish make this dive truly unforgettable.
