Catamaran Tour Negril

Red Stripe Catamaran Tour in Negril

Friday, March 29th.
We celebrated my wife Dany's birthday with a catamaran cruise along the coast of Negril.

We spent a relaxed morning on the beach and booked the Sunset River Cruise with the Red Stripe Catamaran — easy to remember since the catamaran shares its name with Jamaica's iconic beer, Red Stripe. (The tour costs $50 per person, only $30 for repeat guests, and can be booked right on the beach.) The catamaran is a bit smaller than some competitors' boats, which makes it all the more intimate and a lot of fun.

Our first stop was a reef for snorkeling, then we headed to the West End with Negril's famous cliffs to swim in the caves and watch the cliff jumpers at Ricks Cafe. (Ricks Cafe has been named one of the world's top 10 bars — it's an absolute must-see, not exactly cheap, but the perfect spot to gather for sunset with live music.) More about Red Stripe Catamaran Cruises. On board, we enjoyed typical Jamaican jerk chicken for dinner along with complimentary drinks — Red Stripe beer, soda, and rum punch (definitely try the rum punch!). The crew also offers a picnic tour to the offshore island Booby Cay (Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM).
