Anse d'Argent on La Digue
Next up is the world-famous Anse d'Argent beach, which advertisers keep selling us as an amazing Caribbean beach — Bacardi being a prime example. The path to this iconic beach leads through the park, so it costs 100 Rupees. However, since all beaches in the Seychelles are public by law, you can refuse to pay the entrance fee and head straight to the beach — though you won't be able to visit the park. Another option is to walk along the beach from the front. If you've paid the park entrance twice, your third visit is free.
Some children of the '80s might also recognize it from the softcore film Goodbye Emanuelle. Much of the movie was shot on La Digue.
What awaits us is a breathtaking beach, and after a while my index finger practically cramps up on the camera shutter.
Swimming and Snorkeling at Anse d'Argent
While snorkeling, we're lucky enough to have a curious sea turtle accompany us for quite a while, until it gets startled by a moray eel. Then suddenly there are two sea turtles...
In the deeper areas there are also some beautiful corals, though in the water temperatures of up to 28°C, nearly all the coral is dead. Still, there's plenty to see.
There's not much more to say about this place, except: Must See!!!
