Getting to Mahé

Arriving in the Seychelles — Mahé

Saturday, October 2nd

After an 8.5-hour flight with Condor we arrive on Mahé, the main island of the Seychelles. We had booked a great deal through my-seychelles.net. The time difference is + 2 hours, which means our day is still young (8:45 AM). Our driver picks us up at the airport and takes us straight south to the Jamelah Guest House. A family-run property right on the beach awaits us. Not a single person on the beach. Bliss. Despite SPF 30, we manage to get a mild sunburn while relaxing.

Creole Festival in October

A short walk is still on our agenda.
We stroll a few hundred meters toward Victoria and stumble upon a Creole festival. For a few rupees we feast on Creole dishes among the locals. With our European complexion we only stand out "slightly" and are constantly greeted with friendly smiles.
Prices:
Beer SCR 30 (approx. €1.30)
Banana chips SCR 20 (approx. €1.20)
Dinner at the market: SCR 45 (approx. €2.50)
Takamaka Rum SCR 160 for 750ml
