Cruising on the Voyager of the Seas
Saturday, March 10: Pack the suitcases and enjoy a few relaxing hours by the pool with an extended sunbathing session. At 2:00 PM we take a taxi to the port. Finally, it's time! We head straight to check-in and board the ship without any waiting. Time flies until departure. At 5:00 PM the Voyager of the Seas sets sail from Miami.
The Journey Begins
Time to quickly explore the ship, complete the mandatory safety drill, take a quick shower, and then head to dinner. A delicious four-course meal kicks off our first evening on board. By the way, you can customize your dinner menu in advance from the served selection. It's also no problem to send something back, and you can even just eat starters all night — the only thing that matters is that you enjoy what you eat!
On Board the Voyager
After all that culinary delight, it's time for a digestive stroll. We wander through the ship's own shopping promenade, heading for the casino! Unfortunately, our attempt to boost our funds doesn't quite work out. The Welcome Show in the theater provides a nice change of pace.
The Voyager of the Seas is a mega ship of the Voyager class by Royal Caribbean, equipped with everything you could possibly imagine. Our budget-friendly inside cabin turned out to be a perfect choice — it was an accessible cabin and therefore twice the size of a standard one.
A Day at Sea
Sunday, March 11: Right after breakfast, we sign up at the ship's dive center for a dive at Cozumel.
On the foredeck we find a quiet spot to relax in the Caribbean sun. A brief, heavy rain shower interrupts our blissful idleness for a moment, but we use the break for an excursion through the enormous cruise ship. Simply mind-blowing and gigantic. From sales shows and bingo to wellness and club dancing — everything is on offer here.
Dining at Sea
Tonight's dress code is "elegant" for the nightly four-course (or even more) dinner — as many courses as you like, or until you simply can't eat another bite.
If that sounds too formal, you can also visit one of the other restaurants, such as the Italian à la carte restaurant. But we recommend everyone try a dress code evening at least once — it's a nice change of pace, and the people-watching alone is an experience in itself. Just give it a try!
Evening Entertainment
Well-fed and satisfied, we spend a few hours in the gigantic and stylishly designed onboard casino, before heading up to a quiet bar on the 12th deck to enjoy our Welcome Back Cocktail with a magnificent moonlit view over the ocean.
At the "Cleopatra's Needle" bar we catch a karaoke night with some genuinely talented performers, and then listen to an amazing band playing hits from the 80s for a while.
