Arrival in San Juan — Puerto Rico
Sunday, September 30th
At 8:00 AM the Adventure docks in San Juan on Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, this is also where our cruise comes to an end. We take a taxi back to Isla Verde and stow our luggage at the Borinquen Inn. For a hefty $100, we get a room where you have to worry the ceiling might come crashing down. On the bright side, we are only a few steps from the beach and besides, it is our last night. Compared to our cabin on the ship, it takes some getting used to.
So off to the beach to soak up the Caribbean Sea one last time. After a sudden and extreme downpour drives us away, we find ourselves completely drenched at the Water and Beach Club Hotel right on the beach. The doorman offers to let us wait out the rain and dry off at the hotel bar. And so we end up on the hotel rooftop at the bar with a fantastic view over Isla Verde. Just a few meters inland, planes glide in almost silently for landing, and below us we watch cars navigate their way through the floodwaters. Up on the roof there are sofas, the bar, and a pool. Absolutely top-notch. Starting at around €120 per person per night, this would have been the perfect way to end our trip.
Unfortunately, just a few hours later it is already time to head back to good old Germany...
The End
