We land at 3:55 PM local time on Martinique. At the airport, we are greeted by Madinina Tours. After a 20-minute drive, we reach the seaside resort of Le Diamant les Baínes. Following a warm welcome from the owner of Hotel Diamant Les Baines and his team, we enjoy a delicious rum punch in the garden and settle into our room. Then it's time for an extended swim. Since we are the first guests of the season, we get a bungalow right on the beach. :-) We learned that the hotel opened a day early just for us and we are all the more delighted by the warm reception. After a quick stroll through the village of Le Diamant and a visit to the nearby supermarket, we head to bed early.
