Our flight departs from Zurich (overnight stay at the IBIS Airport Hotel — great value: 1 night plus 14 days of parking with free airport shuttle, around €150).  We fly via London and Miami to Nassau, Bahamas. The total journey takes about 20 hours.  We flew with American Airlines and Bahamas Air.
 
Due to a longer layover in Miami, we arrive a bit late in Nassau. We take a taxi for $28 (be sure to agree on the fare beforehand!) from the airport to downtown Nassau and check into our first hotel for 2 nights: The Junkanoo Beach Resort, located right on the beach of the same name. It sits near the cruise port of Nassau and within walking distance of the city center.
By midnight we are completely exhausted and fall into bed. The lively party music on the beach goes completely unnoticed...
