Saturday, March 17    12:00 PM Car Pick Up

Early in the morning, we dock at the port of Miami. After breakfast, we head to the mall and wait for our disembarkation. A shuttle from Alamo Car Rental picks us up at the pier and takes us to the main office. We're in luck — our reserved midsize car is overbooked, so we get a minivan for the same price and head towards Key Largo.

Along the highway, there are a few outlets we just can't pass up. Fortunately, we now have a nice big trunk.

In the early afternoon, after a few more stops, we reach Key Largo and meet Anya, a German expat who runs her own dive center on Key Largo.
Scuba Fun — Key Largo was also later featured on Voxtours and comes highly recommended. Due to Spring Break, everything was completely booked, so Anya offered us a private room.

Together with 4 other divers from back home, we head to Sharky's, a local bar near the boat dock where you can hang out and chat about the day's adventures. Today, an Irish holiday is being celebrated. At 10:00 PM, we retire to Anya's quarters. We stroll along the canals and watch a nurse shark catching its dinner. After a quick chat on Anya's balcony, it's off to bed.
