Arriving in Miami
Tuesday, March 6
At 1:00 PM we depart from Frankfurt via Washington to Miami with Lufthansa. At 7:00 PM local time we reach our destination and take a taxi straight to the Best Western South Beach hotel. After a quick check-in, we head straight out to Ocean Drive.
We stroll through the Art Deco District and spend the evening at a bar right in the heart of the action. See and be seen is the motto in Miami! Nothing is too flashy to show off who you are or what you've got. Like watching a movie, we follow the hustle and bustle on Ocean Drive and a car parade that doesn't miss a single luxury vehicle.
On the sidewalk you can spot the fruits of hours of cosmetic surgery, beautifully wrapped in runway-worthy outfits. Even the mannequins here sport a double-D cup size :-)
Thanks to jet lag, we retreat to our hotel just two streets behind Ocean Drive.

Miami Beach
Wednesday, March 7: Right after breakfast we hit the beach for some sunbathing. A rather cool breeze keeps us from swimming, so we take a long walk instead.
We stroll along Lummus Park all the way to South Beach Park. This is where the upscale high-rises with the apartments you've seen in one movie or another are located.
At a really cool beach bar, we enjoy a few drinks while a fashion photo shoot takes place right next to us.
From South Beach to Lincoln Road
We walk back along Ocean Drive to the Starbucks at 14th Street. After a short break, we continue to Lincoln Road, the shopping street par excellence.
A big surprise awaits us here. We discover a TeNo jewelry store. I happen to wear this fine designer jewelry from Pforzheim myself. We offer it back home at our jewelry store in Freiburg, and for those who can't make it to Freiburg, there's also our TeNo Online Shop at Teno-Freiburg.de
Countless shops later, and quite a few worthwhile dollars lighter, we make our way back late at night. Extra tip: when the dollar exchange rate is favorable, you can score fantastic designer bargains here!
Aventura Mall — Miami
Thursday, March 8: After an American breakfast, we nurse our sunburn with a shopping trip to the Aventura Mall. The bus ride along Collins Avenue takes about an hour until we reach the Aventura Mall just past North Miami Beach. In this typical large American shopping center, we go all out on a shopping spree. With Levi's 501 jeans for $20, our hearts skip a beat. At dusk, many shopping bags later, we take the bus back to Miami Beach.
After dinner at "Miami Grill," we stroll along Ocean Drive for a while, people-watching and enjoying the balmy evening.
Collins Avenue
Friday, March 9: Today is all about the beach. After hours of lounging in the sun, we venture out for another shopping tour on Collins Avenue, which runs parallel to Ocean Drive.
The few meters' distance makes a huge difference in prices. Over dinner, we have a wonderful view of the street and watch as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Hummer, Rolls Royce, a Z4, and the entire Mercedes-Benz luxury lineup put on a show. Around here, people even convert trucks into pick-ups. Standing out is everything!
