Dive Tour in Curaçao

At 9:45 AM we meet our dive guide from Atlantis Diving
at the pier. We had booked the dive day online from home, and the whole process went smoothly. We receive a very warm welcome and drive about 15 minutes to the dive center, where we are immediately fitted with equipment.

On the schedule are 2 dives from shore at 2 different locations until about 3:00 PM, at a cost of 63 USD per person including equipment.

Together with 4 Dutch divers, we head to the first dive spot.
Unlike most dive tours, the dives here start from shore.
Along the roadside, dive flags painted on rocks and signs mark the dive spots. For island vacationers who want to dive without a guide, this makes finding a great dive site incredibly easy. However, our guide warns us not to leave cars with valuables parked unattended here.

1st Dive: Vaerssen Baai

It's a relaxed dive with plenty of fish, a beautiful reef, and loads of soft corals. The maximum depth was 20 meters and the dive lasted 45 minutes.

Afterwards we head back to the dive base for lunch. The crew organizes some food before we set off for Directors Bay.

2nd Dive: Directors Bay

We drive about 20 minutes through Willemstad and then across the island heading southeast through a desert-like landscape of cacti, hills, and old towers to our next dive spot.

Somewhat secluded, we reach Directors Bay and head straight back into the water. We dive along a steeply dropping coral reef following the coastline, enjoying the tranquility and wonderful corals. Fish are rather scarce here today.

After returning at a leisurely pace to the base and stowing our gear, it's time for the afternoon program.
