Departure from Martinique
Monday, October 5th
One last swim in the sea early in the morning. We quickly pack up the last of our things, return the car, and shortly after are picked up by our transfer service and taken to the airport. With Air Caraibes, we fly from Martinique to Guadeloupe for €126 per person in just one hour, landing at Pointe-a-Pitre international airport. A highly recommended airline for traveling between the islands.
Arrival Guadeloupe - Grande Terre
Upon arriving in Guadeloupe, we are immediately greeted by a friendly young woman from Karibik Reisen who, funnily enough, is also from Freiburg — what a coincidence! We pick up our Clio and set out to find our hotel — it takes a little longer, but eventually we find it. Normally, it takes about 30 minutes to reach Sainte-Anne.
Our hotel is called Le Rotabas and is located just past Sainte-Anne, or more precisely, before Club Med and very close to a dream beach called Plage de la Caravelle, which we head to right away. After a relaxing afternoon at the beach, we meet our tour guide in the evening over one — or maybe two or three — glasses of wine, and she fills us with plenty of detailed information about Guadeloupe that we plan to put into action over the coming days...
