Departing for Dominica (ferry Caribbean Spirit one way € 45.-) at the port of Portsmouth, the booked transfer was nowhere to be found. Instead, a wild horde of taxi drivers greeted us, relentlessly urging passengers to take a cab.
One driver called our hotel and snagged the transfer job, since the original driver hadn't shown up due to the ferry's earlier departure time and hadn't been informed. It's very reassuring when you organize your transfer in advance.
By early afternoon, we reached the Sunset Bay Club. A lovely small, family-run hotel owned by a Belgian expat couple. We received an incredibly warm welcome and outstanding service. Here too, we were initially the only guests :-) The hotel owner spontaneously organized an off-shore dive from the hotel beach for us (70 US$). George, the dive guide from the hotel's own dive center, quickly fitted us with the proper equipment – we had a wonderful dive at the hotel reef.

Unfortunately, our camera drowned the next day, so we can't show any more photos and videos here.
