Along the way we meet our local dancer from the previous evening again. We let ourselves be talked into it and he carves us a Calabash, which he decorates with sun, moon, palm trees and a turtle. In the end we pay him 70 TT dollars instead of 120 (roughly 9 euros) for our handmade souvenir, which can be used as an indestructible drinking cup or as a tea light holder. The motto is: live and let live.
Bon Accord Lagoon
Tuesday, October 21st
Today the hotel transfer bus even comes to pick us up and takes us to Pigeon Point. Admittedly, not very imaginative, but very relaxing.
We take a long walk along the Bon Accord Lagoon towards No Mans Land, although without luggage, as robberies of tourists in this area have apparently increased. In return, we are pretty much alone somewhere in the middle of nowhere and enjoy the tranquility.
The Restaurant W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G.
We have dinner at W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G., on Pigeon Point Road next to Extra Divers. A German who has been living in the Caribbean for 30 years has opened a bar with restaurant and barbecue grill here with his partner. We were served very friendly, quickly and at very moderate prices. The food was delicious and smiles are written in capital letters here.
