Diving at Speyside
Saturday, October 18th
At 8:00 AM the pick-up from the Extra Divers arrives at the hotel and takes us to the dive base, where we get our equipment ready right away.
Today's trip takes us to Speyside to the famous Sisters, four rock formations rising from the sea.
Along the way we stock up on cake from Jimmy's Supermarket and pick up another diver during the 100-minute drive along the winding coastal road.
Dive the Sisters
We get ready to dive and jump in. Unfortunately, visibility is somewhat limited due to the rough sea of recent days.
Nevertheless, we see the most diverse species of beautiful corals, from small moray eels to a 3.5-meter green giant moray, a
spiny lobster, barracudas, cleaner shrimps, longnose butterflyfish, triggerfish and parrotfish, a turtle, and various large schools of fish.
After 55 minutes, a beautiful dive with a maximum depth of 23.2 meters comes to an end.
Lunch Break at Parlatuvier
We head into a quiet bay for a lunch break at Parlatuvier.
Since we unfortunately don't have shoes with us, we skip the walk to a beautiful waterfall nearby.
After a good hour of relaxation on the beach, we head back to the Sisters for our second dive. All other dive sites are unfortunately not diveable today.
Dive the Sisters II
We now enjoy another beautiful dive in a rocky underwater world full of crevices. We dive through steep rock canyons, spot a large hawksbill turtle, plenty of hard and soft corals.
50 minutes later our second dive comes to an end as well. The maximum depth was 22.4 meters.
After a stormy ride along the coast with ups and downs, we reach solid ground again in Speyside.
