Shopping and Relaxing
Thursday, October 23
A heavy rain greeted us that morning, which apparently was too much for the service staff as well — so breakfast was in danger of being cancelled. Only the cook was there, but she didn't want to serve... Dany's compromise of fetching the food from the kitchen herself worked. Eventually, the cook actually took pity and brought breakfast to our table. Somehow she managed to wedge the broken umbrella between her shoulder and head like a telephone while balancing the plates — respect!!! :-) Where else would you see something like that?

Then we thought it would be a good idea to drive to the island's biggest shopping mall. 10 US dollars and 8 km later, we arrived. When someone frantically gestured to us that there was no electricity today, our taxi was already gone. After about an hour of waiting, a boutique owner took us into the closed center and we had "private shopping."
A businessman from Miami took pity on us and gave us a ride back to Crown Point, since he couldn't get anything done at the center either.
In the afternoon, we booked a diving trip for the next day with Markus before retreating to our room. The day had well and truly rained itself out.
