We hop in a taxi from the cruise pier heading toward downtown. The 10-minute ride to the city center costs around $8 USD.

What awaits us: a buzzing street scene, tropical rain, and gorgeous wooden houses. We shop our way along Broad Street, past the Nelson Column, the Parliament Building, St. Mary's Church, and all the way to Chamberlain Bridge.

There is barely a designer store you won't find here. Important: bring your credit card and plenty of time.

Despite the rain, we make our way to the beach and soak in the view over the wide sandy bay. Simply breathtaking – even in Caribbean rain at 27 degrees.
