Arriving on the Caribbean Island of Grenada with Condor
April 6th
After almost 10 hours of flight time, our Condor plane (departing from Frankfurt) reaches the airport of Grenada. Nearly 30 degrees and high humidity await us — we are on vacation! :-)
Our rental car, a Jeep, is brought to the hotel in the evening. Once the formalities are taken care of, we head to the police station. I need a Grenada driving license. For a few dollars, it is quickly obtained. An international driving license can substitute for this.
Our hotel, the Flamboyant (bed & breakfast), is a well-maintained property on Grand Anse Beach with a view of St. George's and the cruise pier — very helpful for planning the day. In the evenings, entertainment at the Owl Sportsbar right next to the hotel restaurant and the dive center (www.divegrenada.com).
Our hotel is only 10 minutes away, so we quickly make it to our first swim. The hotel is located right on the famous Grand Anse, with a dive center right next door. The Flamboyant makes a well-kept impression and the staff is very friendly.
